the moon sees somebody I'd like to see.
God Bless the moon and God Bless me.
And God Bless the someone that I'd like to see."
I guess I should have wrote...
"God Bless the ones that I'm going to see"
On July/14 I will be flying to SC for a 4 week
visit thanks to a gift that someone gave me.
I will be working to raise the money needed
to put in a cement floor in the school.

I would like you all to meet
Joe, Rachel, and their 2 children.
I have known Joe for over 10 years.
(He is one of IFM's employs.)
I was in Joe and Rachels wedding party
so they (Joe and Rachel) are now my
"God Children" So that makes me "God Grandma"
Here I am with my 2 "God Grandchildren"
It has been allot of fun spending a little
bit of time with them the past 3 week.
Lord willing I will be going back up to Soliette on July/3
Please keep praying for me. Thanks!!!
On May/29 I got company.....
(May/29 - June/13)
Sheila Driedger (L) and Kendra Amendt (R)
from B.C. Canada came to stay with me for 2 weeks.
Here is a picture I took of
Mr and Mrs Vladimy Mardy
the day they brought the girls up.
You can not really tell it on this picture but
we got rained on on our way up to the house.
- If you go to www.Xanga.com/heart_of_compassion
you will be able to see other pictures from that day.
The girls brought stuff with them to have
Bible school with the school children.
We had a lot of fun!!!
Do to us getting some much needed rain
we were not able to have the Bible school
outside every day like we wanted to,
but we were very thankful for the rain!!
The girls took Creole classes.
The one thing they learned is the
colors in Creole and that helped
us out a lot in Bible school.
Kendra and Sheila are 2 of 8 girls from Canada
that have come to spend 4 weeks in Haiti.
Two of the other girls were at IFM and they
got brought up to see were these girls
were the one afternoon.
We did not know they were coming.
It was a nice surprise for them!!
The girls got to help do wash "by hand"
The one day when we were done with the
wash we went through some bags of clothes
that they had brought to give away and
we ended up finding a Snickers bar that was
stuck in among the clothes - so we split it
3 ways and had a treat.
We taught one of the Haitians how to play
Spades. That was a lot of fun.
The girls brought a big thing of bubbles with them.
Everyone loved them, even the older people.
We got to do some visiting. We took the talking Bible
that was given to me by IFM along and played it
for the people. We also had prayer with them.
Me with some of the children that
have totally stolen my heart.
And what can I say.........
I do believe Sheila and Kendra
have lost their hearts too.
What do you all think???
Here I am reading a letter to one of the
school students that her sponsor wrote to her.
The man in the picture is one of our teachers
- He just so happens to also be the
student's Dad as well.
The very next week I got another letter in
the mail to read to another child.
I really enjoyed doing this.
The one day I was caught being the "local nurse"
On Tuesday June/10 we got to go to the
next town up the mountain to market.
Here the girls in the tap-tap
I really enjoyed having the girls with me.
I am going to really miss them.
Thank you both so much for the big help you
were to me, and for bring the things needed
to have the Bible school with the students.
And last but not least - here is a picture that
was taken of me in the past 2 weeks.
Thank you so much for all your
prayer support God Bless you all!!
Do not forget that you can go to
www.xaga.com/Every_Child_of_Soliette_Haiti
and see the updates for the School's site.
Thanks so much for all your Prayer support!!
I am going to be heading
back up to Soliette this morning.
I have to run to clinic and let them do
a couple more tests and then they will
call me with the results. So until then I
will not know for sure what I have.
I do feel better this morning.
The girls are here and we had a good
time getting to know each other last night.
Well.......
Guess what everyone,
I am sick again.
I came down to IFM's
clinic today to get tested and
I have been told that I
DO NOT
have Malaria or Typhoid.
Only thing is they do not know what
I have. So I am going to have to go to
get some tests done in town on
Thursday morning.
Please Pray that they find out
why I am sick and that God
heals me really fast.
I will try and let everyone
know what is going on
as soon as I know.
For those of you who do not know
yet I now have an address .

WOW, it has been 7 weeks since I updated last!!!!!!
Allot of things have happened in that time frame, here are some of them……
Mike and Joanna Martin (they are from IFM) took me up to Soliette again on March/26.
Mike was kind and helped me out by putting the wood blocks up on the cement
block wall’s so that I could hang my curtain rode’s on them.
Thanks so much Mike it was a real blessing to have you do that for me.
Only thing is I forgot that the curtain rod brackets get put up with screws now and not nails…….
...I did manage to get them in but it took longer then it would have with the screw gun.
Here are pictures of my one room house.
I would love to have all of you just come on over for a visit and be
able to show you my place in person but for now this will just have to do the job.
The one time I went visiting it started raining before I got back to my house. The person I was
visiting at the time it started raining decided that she did not want me getting all “cold and wet”
so she gave me a shirt (2 sizes to small!!!) and a scarf to put on my head.
I went to two weddings in April.
They were both in the next town down the mountain from where I live.
It is just over an hour walk to get there. Here are some pictures I took at them.
(first wedding)
(second wedding)
I got some pictures of the toys the children make to play with.
Here is a homemade guitar and a truck (Tap-tap).
On April/19 I was given the opportunity to go to Bible study. - I rode with the ones from IFM.
Bible study was at C.A.M. After Bible study we went to the beach for a while.
The ones from IFM bought a watermelon for us to eat just before we left the beach. Josiah
(Mike and Joanna Martins son) kept eating the rind and not the “good part.”
The family I live with bought a puppy. They thought it would be a good idea to have a dog - more protection for
me when he finally grows up. I got to name him. I named him “Jack”. I gave him a bath in flee and tick shampoo the one day.
They all had a good laugh at me but they all had a fit at the amount of flees that washed out of his fur.
I planted pecan and apple trees seeds in black bags. I pray they grow. I also
planted some sweet corn and a few cantaloupe seeds in their garden.
It would be so nice if they grew and produced even a small amount.
The one weekend the family I live with had to butcher one of their cows.
I was doing my wash the same day and ended up having to walk
through the “meat market” to hang my clothes out.
I spend my day’s at the School. I really enjoy my "job". Once in a while I even help teach.
I’m still learning to spell in Creole and me learning French is just not getting much of
anywhere, or at lest it feels like that to me. I normally just help teach math or help the
younger ones with making their letters and numbers correct if I help teach.
I also grade papers for the teachers some times as long as I have a sheet of
paper to do the grading from. For example if they are to be writing a
phrase in French as the teacher reads it to them I can take what
the teacher read and use it as a "score key".
These 2 are brother and sister and they
give me a hug almost every day.
One of the teachers from our School also helps in the Church service we have.
Here he is with his next to the youngest child. - She is a real "Daddy’s girl."
These 5 Brothers are allot of fun to teach.
The youngest one is not in School yet but he comes
to visit me with his older brothers once in a while.
I will be down at IFM for a while do to the fact that the witch doctor is in
the Soliette area and the family I live with do not feel it would be a good
idea for me to stay up in that area and let all the people coming to
worship the devil see that a “white woman” lives in that area.
Lord willing I can go back up the third Sunday of May.
This past week and next the teachers are spending more time in Bible study with the children because of
the witch doc comming. The last hour of the day is being spent with all the children outside together with the
teachers tell them story’s about Jesus. Here are a few pictures I took before I came down on Wednesday.
Here are some pictures I have taken of the School Children
Can you see why they have stolen my heart??
And last but not least I will put on a few pictures that people have
taken with/of me in the past 2 months.
God Bless each of you and thank you so much for all of your Prayers!!
